Morocco youngster Ayyoub Bouaddi has earned a spot in Opta’s Team of the World Cup 2026 Opening Round after producing an eye-catching display against Brazil. The Lille midfielder was one of the standout performers in Morocco’s 1-1 draw with the South American powerhouse, attracting attention from analysts and supporters alike.
Making his first World Cup appearance, Bouaddi showed remarkable maturity despite being only 18. The midfielder handled the occasion with confidence and played a central role in Morocco’s efforts against one of the tournament’s strongest contenders.
Bouaddi was heavily involved throughout the contest, recording 87 touches of the ball. Only Brazil’s central defenders registered more touches during the match, underlining the Moroccan teenager’s influence in possession.

Bouaddi’s display has further strengthened interest from leading European clubs. The midfielder has reportedly attracted attention from Real Madrid, Arsenal, Chelsea, Bayern Munich, and Paris Saint-Germain, all of whom continue to monitor his development.
